GUIDELINES FOR PRACTICE MANAGERS

 GENERAL.  The Practice Manager is responsible to the Training Director for the management of practice sessions at the Mohonk Fields on dates assigned. Contact the Training Director for any questions. Anne Smith

Specific.  

  1. Manage the assignment of training areas according to availability of space and the training needs of members.  [GIS maps and other charts are useful tools in this respect.]  The practice manager will be available in the “headquarters area” (near the red barn) until 10 AM.  
  2. Determine the suitability of weather for training and advise those who have indicated they intend to train if training is cancelled.
  3. Determine the training needs of members through direct on-site inquiry, personal knowledge, information received before hand from members, etc. 
  4. Assign members to work together in terms of mutual track laying, observing, coaching, etc.
  5. Lay track if requested and if other commitments permit.
  6. Observe and coach if requested.
  7. Utilize experienced members who may be present as instructors if they are willing.  [There’s usually enough downtime while waiting for tracks to age for this activity.
  8. Provide feedback to training director
